The goal of the constructability review is to maintain the integrity of the design while considering alternative cost-effective construction methods.
Benefits
Selecting a Construction Manager early in the Design Phase of the construction process will provide the Owner and their team with cost and time savings. Alternative systems proposed during the Design Phase prevent scheduling and phasing delays while offering potential savings and a reduction in RFIs and Change Orders.
Advanced Building Group Inc.'s in-house document review is comprised of three distinct components:
Building Systems Analysis
Advanced Building Group Inc.'s Estimating Team performs a building systems analysis to identify code violations; ensure the details are constructable and do not cause scheduling delays; coordinate the availability of materials with scheduling; and provide proper coordination between the disciplines. We also review the mechanical and electrical systems for cost savings and recommend alternatives.
Review of Construction Documents
Advanced Building Group Inc.'s Operations Team reviews the construction documents concurrently with the building systems analysis. Paying close attention to overall quality and constructability, alternative construction methods and phasing options may be suggested in order to minimize disruptions during construction.
Trade Contractor Input
Advanced Building Group Inc. uses respected trade contractors to review and evaluate the construction documents for completeness and constructability. This supplemental review provides further analysis of the design, addressing budget and schedule requirements, material availability and overall performance from a trade contractor's perspective. |
